Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How old do I have to be to participate in FIRST Team 4293?
A: Students in grades 8-12 may participate in our FIRST program. If you are younger or out of the age range, please contact us and we will try to work something out.
Q: What are the GPA requirements to participate?
A: Students must have a 3.0GPA to be on the team and a 3.5GPA to be on the student leadership team.
Q: I would like to be Team 4293 Mentor, but I am not an engineer. Can I still be a mentor?
A: Yes! Mentors are also needed for other areas such as finance, team organization, and marketing.
Q: I can't attend every team meeting, but I would still like to be a part of Team Komodo. Can I still participate?
A: While we ask that team members attend as many meetings as possible, you can still be a part of the team. Please let the team mentors/leaders know which days you will not be able to attend, and they will put you in a position where you will still be able to participate. It will probably prevent you from being on the student leadership team, but at least you will be able to be a part of the team!
Q: How much work are the parents required to do in order for their child to be a part of the team?
A: We ask that parents help out each season by providing lunches for the team on Saturdays.
